Yesterday, was the first time... I entered a Jamming Studio. G_G
It was 2 hours of trying out instruments and playing some songs. But of course, the people I went with are people still learning their instruments, so basically it was noisy and at the same time fun. Actually it was my friend who invited to join them on the Jam session. My reason for joining? Well, I wanted to try out the electric guitar! LOL!
It was FANTASTIC! The electric guitar is so easy! Why easy? Well, the amplifier basically ups the volume and you dun have to play so hard on the strings to get the sound you want. Its also dun if you have the paddle effects to play around with. I tried playing Apologize by One Republic and Fall For You by Secondhand Serenade. It sounded weird on the electric, but its not so weird after all. Its so much easier!!! LOL! You press on a string and BAM! A note sings and practically it does. You slide down the fret board it also makes a sound!
I know for those who already tried or have already played will go, "nothing special electric guitar." But the moment I hear the sounds, I know that if I want to go soloing on a electric guitar, its not for me. Ask me to play and sing with an electric guitar? That's something else. I do not want to play extra stuff anyway. All I want was to sing and play at the same time. Which I got a chance inside that Jam room. It was fun, as the guitarist guy, nicknamed "Mi", suddenly started to play introductions to songs from MCR(My Chemical Romance). Then it really gets fun. Then we tried Linken Park's No More Sorrow intro. Lol. My friend shun, on the drums is just weird. He is a little off beat as he is still learning. Me, if I ever want to learn? I guess chord keyboarding will be my next target of music. But for now, guitar will sufficed.
Whoa, I talked so long about the JAM SESSION! LOL! Well, even after this experience, in the end, I still love, the Acoustic Guitar more than the electric. Requires more skill to bring out the RAW-ness of the song. Requires more finger-plucking technique to get the melody out. Sure electric is the same. In the end, I still think that acoustic is a good-way for songwriting. Everywhere you go, you can play an acoustic anywhere and it still sounds nice without the amp. For electric? You need an amp. Sure you can play by its own. But it does not sound great at all, trust me.
Ok ok, i'm boring my non-music fans. Btw, I get to officially say, I'VE FINISHED MY CERT COURSE ON CREATIVE COMPUTER ANIMATION! My 3D Common Sense has leveled up!
