Yup, I've found another job. Its really the grace of God to be able to find jobs that are near my home and though the pay was low, but so long as it has a friendly environment, its ok.
So yeah, from the title, you know where I worked at. This branch is near my house. For those who were in my cell group, yes its the one at Yew Tee MRT. I work there now. Haha.
The staff were friendly, today was my second day. First day there was nothing much to do, except to visit another branch in Bukit Gombak to collect some stuff for our own outlet. Of course, I did not pay for the transport, the company did. Other than that, we did something called Front-facing. It's a monotonous and tedious job, where you have to make sure all the products are facing to the front of the price tag. And it has to be place near the edge.
The overall workload was like a normal retail shop. Stressful, due to overwhelming customers. Especially during peak hours. They were all stressed to the bone. Especially when customers have some difficulty with the prizes.
One customer in particular, paid the amount then wondered, "why I paid so much for it? I thought it was discounted?" he asked me. I was like "Huh?"
"I saw the price tag, it was $7 plus, but you charge me $9 plus."
I was totally clueless, I just learnt cashiering, not familiar with all the items there yet. So i asked my colleague to settle for me. And I continued to serve other customers.
Then he came back with a face that does not look happy.
customer: "can I take back the money?"
me: "Er... No, sir. I already key in and cash in the money. I can't give the money back already."
customer: "But I just now thought it was $7 plus."
me: "I'm sorry sir, but I already key in, I can't undo it. Its not in my position. Unless you want to exchange items for the same amount of money."
customer: "hmm..." At this point of time, I said "Next." For the next customer, and it was already a dragon of a Q.
In the end, he just accepted the item. Guess what it was. Toothpaste. All that for a tube of Toothpaste. SHEESH! Your daily needs also want to bargain? I know that customer actually was like a Bangla. But even so, toothpaste, is daily necessity what. I really dunno how to say this. But even I buy toothpaste, if its not discount its not lor, just pay. Daily necessity.
I understand, some are not as well off as me. The thing is, its still a need, not a want. I won't bargain for such a thing la, but of course, we are all humans, want to save more money. I guess, really when it comes to the world, your Right and Wrong values somehow got mixed up.
However, thanks to a book, known as the Bible, we can live life through the manual of the book of life.
