Working before entering army, common practice among fellow men of Singaporeans. Of course I have friends who quit their job so that they can relax for 1 month before entering NS, which is a living hell for some of them.
To tell you the truth, I'm kinda excited that I can finally enter NS. One of the reasons being, I can finally move on in life, and secondly, I can quit my contracted Job! Then afterwards, I began to feel a little intimidated. The trainings are going to be tough, no doubt about it, but the training phase is not what bugs me, its the mental attack by the sergeants.
Sure enough, as I remembered listening to some of my friends experience in army and how they got punished by them, doing silly stuff like jumping jumping jacks with "ya ya papaya!" if you said a "ya" instead of "yes sir" to your sergeant.
All in all, my friends commented it was a fun experience.
Since knowing that I am entering army, I began to feel the urge to exercise as well as to become physically better in terms of "looks" as well as Fitness, which is my primary goal.
The problem is motivation. Having urges does not mean I will exercise. I will tend to procrastinate until I do not have the drive to go.
Just yesterday after work, I went to the gym with my friends. Before that we did a 2.4km run, own pace. We tried abit of sprinting intervals on the track. After running, I had stiches and I had to stop. After that we went to the gym, where weight training and muscle build-up is the place for this. I did most of the machines for upper body. Pull up is still not working for me. *Sigh*
Checked the weight machine too, 63kg. Man am I heavy...
