Oh - My - GOSH!
Love this type of movies where there are zombies involved. Whats more, its in my favorite, first person camera mode. Yes people this movie is like Cloverfield, the "jerky-camera" experience. But guess what! This movie the camera wasn't that jerky, probably because the character who is handling the camera is actually a camera man from the News. The story is plainly told to you. That something happens in this particular LA building, which was quarantine and the citizens were trapped inside. No one knows what really happen inside, there was no evidence, until NOW.
So you play as the camera man with your reporter a girl, forgot her name already. But you were suppose to do a coverage of a fire fighters life. You get to see a different side to the fire fighters which is somewhat amusing. Also the build up of the atmosphere was well done. From interviewing the fire-fighters to shadowing the fire fighters at work. They arrived at the building where someone called for them. It seems that an old lady locked herself in the room and she wailed and screamed. Then there was silence and the tenants were worried so they called in the authorities.
So shadowing the fire-men they break down the door to see the old lady standing at a corner looking totally frighten and lost. The policeman tried to calm her down and one of them try to get near her, that was when she bite him on the neck. Then there was utter confusion as the camera man tried to steady his camera. There was shouting like "GET THAT CAMERA OUT OF MY FACE!" and "OUTTA THE WAY!" as they drag the lady to the landing. They asked one of the fire -fighters to hold her down while they send the police man downstairs to get out. But somehow, someone locked them in. Even when they shouted that there was an injured man, they still do not let them in. So they seek help from the residents and one of them is a Vet. The vet tended to the police man while the other police man and the fire-fighter walked to the basement door.
Just then the body of the fire-fighter upstairs came flying down. That was simply scary. It was so suddden. To me if you do not want to experience anything don't watch this movie. Because being in First person is always about experiencing that person's shoes.
My ratings, Personally: 4/5 stars
Public: 3/5 stars
